Maths – Temperature

I revised Temperature.

First I Made a DLO on How do Scientists in the South Pole Survive the Cold. They Survive by Wearing lightweight inner jacket, bib overalls, a heavy parka, gloves, mittens, and insulated boots.

Lastly I made A DLO about When and how long does the South Pole get Sunshine. The South Pole gets sunshine for 24 hour of sunlight in the summer and 24 hours of darkness in the winter.

I enjoyed this because I learnt how How do Scientists in the South Pole Survive the Cold and When and how long does the South Pole get Sunshine. I did well on researching on When and how long does the South Pole get Sunshine. I need to improve on writing more fact on the DLO.

Temperature

I learnt about temperature.

First I learnt about rise and fall. Rise mean to go up. For example: The Temperature Rises by 15 degrees. Fall mean to go down. For example: The Temperature falls from 11c.

Lastly I made a DLO of  death Valley explaining the teperature of death valley.

I enjoyed this because I learnt about tamperature. I did well on explaining the temperature of Death Valley. I need to improve on making the DLO of death valley.

Reading Time

I learnt how to read an analog clock.

First I learnt two different times. Digital clock and analog clock. These two times are different because digital time is on a type of technology like: netbooks, phones, and other technology. Analog time can be used as a real clock.

Lastly I put a random time to measure. For example: if digital time was 6:21 then the analog time would be 21 minutes past 6. I learnt the hands of the clock. The long hand is the minute hand. The short hand is the hour hand.

I enjoyed this because I learnt how to read the time. I did well on reading the time. I need to improve on writing the words of the clock.

Statistics

I learnt about statistics.

First we learned how to make a table and a graph. A graph has dots on where the score is placed at. For example: if I jump 1.548 mm I have to convert it into metres, so the number will be 1.5 cm / 1.54 cm.

Next, one person from my group had to jump 7 time. My lengths for my jump went low and high. For example: My groups longest jump was 2.0 m.

I enjoyed thsi because I learnt about statistics. I did well on making the table. I need to improve on making graph.

Permeter

I learned about permeter.

First I created a DLO and estimated how much metres is the PBS field.

Next I went on google maps and measured how much metres the PBS field is. The PBS field perimetre was: 201m.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt what perimetre is. I did well on measuring the area of the school field. I need to improve on estimating the outside of the area.

Length

I learnt how to mesure length.

First I learnt where to measure length. Length is measured by the longest side of the object. Length is measuring things, someone, or objects. For example: length can be measure in MM (millimeters), CM (centimeters), M (meters), and KM (Kilometers).

Next I learnt how to measure objects. For example: a small white board is measure with CM and the length is 29 CM. A chair is measured with CM, the length of a chair is 70.5 CM. I also measured and took images of the objects I measured.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt how to measure objects. I did well on mesuring the objects. I need to improve on find the object to mesure.

Solvmoji

I did a task called solvemoji.

I did a medium solvemoji which was very hard.

I enjoyed this because I solved a medium solvemoji. I did well on anwser the solvemoji. I need to improve on the calculation.

Strategies

I learned about strategies.

First I learnt number line. Number line is a type of strategy by using the smallest number and trying to make the 1 digit number even. Rounding and compensation is another strategy by rounding the number to the nearest tens.

Next I learnt borrwing numbers. Borrwing numbers is borrwing the number, so it is the nearest ten. Then solve the other number. Place value is a stratgey by adding the ones, then tens.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt new strategys. I need to improve on doing the number line strategy. I did well on place value.

Split Strategies

I learnt how to slipt 4 digit addition and 3 digit subtraction.

First I learned how to split 4 digit addition. For example: Split the small Numbers to the hundred number. Then add the number up For example: 5267 + 3000 + 200 + 30 + 2, 8267 + 200 + 30 + 2, 8427 + 30 + 2, 8457 + 2   , 8459.

Next I learned how to split 3 digit number subtraction. For example: 354 – 243, 354 – 200 – 40 – 3, 154 – 40 – 3, 114 – 3, 111.

Lastly I made a DLO of how to slipt 4 digit addition and 3 digit subtraction.

I enjoyed this because I learned how to slipt 4 digit addition and 3 digit subtraction. I did well on slipting 4 digit addition and 3 digit subtraction. I need to improve on exaplaining how to slipt 4 digit addition and 3 digit subtraction.

Statistics

I learned about Statistics.

First we got all our information about what month are you born in, can you ride a bike, how many people live in your house, and what’s your favourite colour. 20 people can ride a bike and 0 people can’t ride a bike.

Next we got more information about what month you were born in. January has 1 person, February has 2 people, March has 1 person, April has 4 people, May has 1 person, June has 2 people, July has 1 person, August has 2 people, September has 0 people, October has 1 person, November has 2 people, and December has 2 people.

Lastly we wrote the sentence answer of what month are you born in, can you ride a bike, how many people live in your house, and what is your favourite colour.

I enjoyed this because I learned what statistics are. I did well on writing the answers. I need to improve on getting the information.
